The film tells the story of the great and long-lasting friendship between Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and William Burroughs that gave birth to the literary movement of the “Beat Generation”.
It all starts in New York in the early 50s when Kerouac decides to write an enormous novel about their common experience. Then, it moves through San Francisco, Mexico City, Tangiers, Paris and ends some 15 years later with the successive publication of “Howl” (Allan Ginsberg), “On the Road” (Jack Kerouac) and “Naked Lunch” (William Burroughs), three books which are each a manifesto in itself.
