Crossing Europe Festival

The upcoming Film Festival (re)presents impressive European Auteur Cinema (30.04.-05.05.)

For the 21st time, the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival Linz (30.4.-5.5.2024) takes place and positions Linz once again as a cinephilic meeting point for European cinema with a focus on the young generation of European filmmakers. The festival provides insights into a continent with a complex history, a conflict-ridden present and yet a hopeful future. CROSSING EUROPE presents itself as an attractive and communicative platform for young filmmakers, cineastes and representatives of the film industry. As a festival of manageable size, the focus is on the film experience in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to around 130 feature films, documentaries and short films from all over Europe, CROSSING EUROPE offers the opportunity for direct exchange with attending filmmakers. For the current edition of the festival, filmfriend is presenting eight documentaries by the renowned Czech director Helena Třeštíková, who has won numerous international awards. She is considered the queen of the long-term documentary film. In 2016, the festival dedicated the Tribute section to her.The films can be found in the Helena Třeštíková collection. Our jointly curated festival collection includes European films screened at previous editions of CROSSING EUROPE.
