Literature: Children's book adaptations

Children's books are the first contact with literature for the very young; sometimes as a waterproof "swimming book" for the bathtub in which you meet animals, sometimes as a colourful picture book, sometimes as a "textbook" that playfully contributes to learning to read and read numbers for the first time or also to the first discovery of the world. These are usually the fun springboard to great literature, and when books or book series that you have grown to love also become moving pictures, the journey continues - especially if you still recognise your heroines in other narrative contexts and identify with them.
